Professional training for the South Mediterranean audiovisual industry Southern Mediterranean professionals of the audiovisual industry are invited to apply for HFF Academy INSIGHT OUT – professional training on digital production technology for film and television, a project funded by the European Union. Background Countries of the South Mediterranean rim ("MEDA countries" are Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey) not only often lack the training structures but also the specialized media and platforms for information on recent developments in the technological sector. Furthermore, professionals from the audiovisual industry seldom get the chance to exchange views with their peers from other countries of the region, let alone from Europe. The European Union’s Euromed Audiovisual II Programme aims at enhancing audiovisual and cultural cooperation between Europe and the South Mediterranean countries. Providing training for film and audiovisual professionals from the MEDA countries and creating sustainable networks between the professionals of the two shores of the Mediterranean are two of its main objectives. Euromed Audiovisual II has chosen INSIGHT OUT for the Southern Mediterranean as one out of twelve projects to be supported by the European Commission in the years 2006-2007.
